Along with live music, delicious food, drink specials and fitness classes, The Barn provides unique group activities that are 
perfect for those much-needed nights out with good friends. And on April 27, The Barn hosted its first (but definitely not last!) Paint Your Pet event!
Colorful Columbus, a local company that leads creative painting activities throughout the city, organized The Barn’s first Paint Your Pet night. Members painted a picture of their pet on canvas using a photograph they had uploaded to the event’s Facebook page upon registration.
Colorful Columbus had made photocopies of the pet pictures each person submitted, and participants cut around the sketch, glued it to the canvas and used it as a guide to paint a picture of their pet.
If you think you don’t have a creative bone in your body, you wouldn’t have needed one for this project! You didn’t have to be an experienced artist or a talented illustrator to create an adorable keepsake of your pet! Colorful Columbus walked from table to table offering suggestions, step by step instructions, and helping members mix colors to get just the right shades and tones they were looking for.
Over 40 people attended Paint Your Pet, which was held in The Barn’s community room, and another 20 or so curious bar-goers from the clubroom wandered over to see what was going on. It was a fun night – both for the painters and the envious spectators! So if you missed out on this one, no worries! It was so much fun and the feedback so positive that we’ll definitely be offering it again!
