The Citizens Voted #1 Urban Development Project of 2017

Edwards Communities is proud to announce that The Citizens cinched the number one spot in Columbus Underground’s Top 10 Columbus Urban Development Projects of 2017.

The Citizens, a building originally constructed in 1917 for The Citizens Savings and Trust Company, was renovated and opened in 2017 with 63 brand new luxury apartment residences on the upper floors. Many of the historic features and architectural details of the building, such as the original two-story bank hall, coffered ceiling entrance and several original bank vaults, have been restored and are enjoyed as common areas by The Citizens’ members and visitors. Its prime location at the intersection of Gay and High Streets is close to the city’s nightlife, restaurants and downtown office buildings.

In addition to the unique studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom floor plans, The Citizens includes a 24-hour fitness center, a rooftop garden room, The Bank Hall Bar, and the newly opened Veritas Tavern restaurant.

Columbus Underground’s Best of 2017 lists are the city’s only year-end lists that recognize the people, products, events, ideas and places that have had the most impact on the city throughout the year. They are compiled using results of their annual reader nomination survey, made available in early December and composed of 38 questions in four categories: (1) The Best Food and Drinks; (2) The Best Arts and Entertainment; (3) The Best Urban Living; and (4) The Best in Entrepreneurship & Small Business. A panel of local judges and experts reviewed the completed surveys and determined the final results.
