Edwards Communities’ Around Town Picks: Fun Things to Do this March

As the spring season officially begins this month, we’re closing the door on the winter activities and getting ready for the warmer temperatures. True to form, our city of Columbus has a wide variety of activities and fun events for you and your families to participate in this month! So whether you call Columbus home or are visiting the city for business or pleasure, we hope you’ll take some time to explore its beauty!

Edwards Communities has put together a list of events we think you shouldn’t miss! Here are our “Around Town Picks” for March:

Arnold Sports Festival, March 1-4, various venues around Columbus

The 2018 Arnold Sports Festival will celebrate its 30th Anniversary with a four-day health and fitness celebration. The festival will attract approximately 200,000 sports and fitness fans who will watch 18,000 athletes compete in 17 events.

 

Columbus Blue Jackets – March 6, 8, 9, 12, 17, 22, 24 Nationwide Arena

Our Columbus Blue Jackets have seven home games in March! They’ll be facing the Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers and St. Louis Blues! Visit their website for the full schedule and to buy tickets!

 

An American in Paris, March 6-11, Ohio Theatre

This new Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of an American soldier and mysterious French girl, each wanting a new beginning in the aftermath of war. The musical earned the most awards in the 2015 season.

 

All American Columbus Pet Expo, March 9-11, Ohio Expo Center

Now in its 23rd year, the All American Columbus Pet Expo will educate the public on the importance of pet ownership through entertainment, pet competition shows, events, seminars, new product sales and demonstrations. The All American Columbus Pet Expo also includes All About Cats, Bounce Mania and Mega Pet Adoption, so you’ll get four big shows in one big weekend!

 

Columbus Crew, March 10, 24, 31, MAPFRE Stadium

Although the Columbus Crew will begin the 2018 season on the road against Toronto FC on March 3, they will host the Montreal Impact for their opening match on March 10! Other home games this month are scheduled against D.C. United on March 24, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 31. Visit their website for more information and to purchase tickets.

 

St. Patrick’s Day Parade, March 10, Metro Center through Historic Dublin

The City of Dublin invites you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the “Greenest & Grandest St. Patrick’s Day Parade.” The fun begins at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast followed by an Inflation Celebration at 9:30, and the parade at 11 a.m. Festivities will continue at the Blarney Bash at 555 Metro Place North. Columbus International Auto Show, March 15-18, Greater Columbus Convention Center

This annual show displays the latest and greatest models and automotive technologies. Your favorite sports cars, sedans, SUVs and minivans will be on display and available to test drive. Enjoy the new releases of today, as well as the classics from yesterday, while the younger crowd explores the Kids Pitstop, a photo scavenger hunt, zoo animals, Matt the Balloon Guy and Face Doodles by Jen.

 

Blake Shelton, March 15, Nationwide Arena

His tour will showcase favorites from Shelton’s latest project, Texoma Shore. Joining him on stage will be fellow country music singers Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and Trace Adkins.

 

ZipZone Outdoor Adventures Opening Day, March 24, 7925 North High Street, Columbus

The first zipline tour in Columbus opens for the season this month, and is a hands free, guided tour in the treetops of Camp Mary Orton. Guided by trained professionals, you’ll zipline over ravines, walk across sky bridges and zip from platform to platform. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
