Edwards Communities’ Around Town Picks: Fun Things to Do This November

November brings the holiday season to Columbus Ohio, and the city and surrounding areas have lots of fun activities taking place this month! So whether you live in Columbus, are visiting relatives, or are here on business, we hope you can get out and enjoy all the festivals, sporting events and musical performances our city has to offer!

Edwards Communities has put together a list of events we think you shouldn’t miss! Here are our “Around Town Picks” for November: 

Ohio State Football – Saturdays, Home and Away

The Buckeye’s regular season will be wrapping up this month, with home games on November 11 against Michigan State and November 18 against Illinois. And of course the final game, away, against the team up north! Even if you can’t snag tickets, there are plenty of places to tailgate in Columbus and cheer our Buckeyes to a win, including The Barn, Edwards’ private club!

 

Waitress, November 7-12, Ohio Theater

The Broadway show, Waitress, scored by pop singer Sara Bareilles, is a heart warming musical that follows a small town waitress who sees a chance to leave her suffocating small town existence behind. Learn more and purchase tickets on the Columbus Theater’s website.

 

Columbus Blue Jackets – November 7, 10, 17, 22, 24 & 28, Nationwide Arena

Hockey season has begun and our Columbus Blue Jackets have home games scheduled this month against the Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, Calgary Flames & Ottawa Senators! Visit their website for the full schedule and to buy tickets!

 

COSI After Dark – November 16, 5:30 – 10 p.m., COSI

Leave the kids behind and join other adults to explore COSI, ride the Hire Wire Unicycle, and learn about the science of food, just in time for Thanksgiving. Special themed activities, beverages and concessions will be available.

 

Wildlights, November 16 – December 31, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Santa, reindeer, animated musical light shows and millions of LED lights make Wildlights Central Ohio’s favorite holiday tradition. This year, Rudolph and Bumble will be joining the fun. Visit the zoo’s website for more information about the attractions.

 

Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival, November 17 – January 7, Ohio State Expo Center

The Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival returns to Columbus with new light sculptures, exciting performances and cultural experiences for the whole family. Visit their website to buy tickets.

 

Holiday Lights Celebration, November 19, 3 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Creekside District

This annual, free event begins in the afternoon with a reindeer petting zoo, horse-drawn carriage rides, crafts, games, band and activities for all ages. In the evening, the Creekside District is illuminated with thousands of lights as residents enjoy food vendors, activities, Santa and the lighting of Gahanna’s community tree.

 

Worthington Farmer’s Market, Saturdays in November, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The Shops at Worthington Place

Fresh fruits and vegetables, cuts of meat, and other locally grown products are available during these winter months! The Worthington Farmer’s Market brings together more than 75 high-quality artisans, farmers, food producers, gardeners and musicians every Saturday this month.

 

Home for the Holidays with Columbus Jazz Orchestra, November 29, 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Southern Theater

Get in the holiday spirit as the 16-piece Columbus Jazz Orchestra performs your holiday favorites, both naughty and nice. Featuring vocalist David Pruyn and Opera Columbus Artistic Director, Peggy Kriha Dye.
