Edwards Communities Supports Mid-Ohio Foodbank With Trick or Treat Food Drive

Last week marked the 14th year Edwards Communities has supported the Mid-Ohio Foodbank with its annual Trick or Treat food drive. We are proud to announce that we collected 3,991 pounds of food items and toiletries and $108 in cash and gift cards for the organization!

The Trick or Treat for Mid-Ohio Foodbank drive is an annual joint effort by all of the apartment communities’ members and employees, the corporate office and The Barn, Edwards Communities’ exclusive member club.

Each year just before Halloween, Edwards’ employees dress in costume to “trick or treat” for canned and non-perishable food donations in their apartment communities. Members can also donate directly to their leasing offices.

The leasing and maintenance teams at each community compete to see which apartment community can collect the most donations. Strathmoor came in first place, achieving 122% of their donation goal, and will receive a team breakfast, lunch or happy hour from The Barn.

Camden Place and The Citizens tied for second place for collecting 116% of their community food drive goal, and The Farms came in third place for collecting 105% of their food drive goal.

We’d also like to congratulate Gregory White of Camden Place, whose trick or treat donation photo was randomly chosen to win two tickets to the Ohio State vs. Penn State game on October 28.

The Mid-Ohio Foodbank provides 101,743 meals each day to 550 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after school programs and senior housing sites in central and eastern Ohio. Edwards Communities is proud to support their efforts by hosting this annual food drive event.

Thank you to all of our members and staff who generously contributed, and to everyone who helped load the truck!
